Come enjoy some true Northwest Sours from Cascade Brewing, a super exclusive tapping of Sang Royal: a blend of select red ales aged in Cabernet and Port wine barrels for up to 30 months with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Big and bold, the 2013 Sang Royal exhibits flavors of aged Cabernet wine, black currants, black cherries and leather with a brisk acidity and a touch of oak. We'll also be tapping the limited Elderberry: a Northwest sour red ale is a blend of barrels that were aged between 12 and 24 months in oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries for five to 12 months. Aromas of dark leather, aged port, raisins, black currants and hints of red peppercorns are present at first. Tart, dark fruit and aged port, followed by leather, black currants and hints of blackberries on the palate lead to a slightly drying finish of tart elderberries, dark fruits and aged port.
